Today, the local trails and Appalachian scenery keep the visitors coming. The airport itself is centrally located near Blountville, a historic stagecoach rest point for west-bound travelers. Tri-Cities serves business and leisure visitors to north-eastern Tennessee and is named for Kingsport, Johnson City and the twin cities of Bristol TN/Bristol VA.
